Accepted into the Copley Art Society in Boston of 1994, Decker is in the honored company of "Copley Masters" such as John Singer Sargent, Whistler and Monet. Upon her acceptance to the Copley Society, Susan won her first juried show exhibiting on Newbury Street in Boston for the award of Copley Top Artist. The painting is titled "Morning Ride" and can be viewed on her "Gallery" page. Decker's prized works (Morning Ride seen in my gallery pages) have been showcased in international art magazines and private collections world-wide. Her work also distinctively hangs in the Presidential Library in Texas. Susan Decker, who studied Engineering Graphics at Boston University, is an accomplished photographer and painter, recognized for photo-realism and impressionism. Decker predominantly paints with oils with a highly valued skill for equine, Plein air landscapes and coastal inspired images. Her work has been influenced by classical masters and impressionists such as Rembrandt and Monet. Painting since a very young age, Susan relates that she has an "obsession with light, the mood it creates and the subtlety and nuance of the way light casts itself". Decker is proficient in all mediums with a diverse range of subject matter. Susan Decker exhibited at the Gala Opening Night for the International Film Festival in Hollywood, CA, 2004, where she secured a second place award in the visual arts category. Decker then went on to exhibit for the Manhattan's Gala Opening Night that same year. See magazine NY International Film Festival. Regularly commissioned, Susan specializes in life size murals throughout the North Shore where she resides. Decker's favorite commission was in the BVI's at her friend Nancy Kilty Shaws Ceilo Villa.
